The Meaning of Fyfe: An India Story

This story takes place in the late 90’s. John is going through a difficult period. He can’t relate to current lifestyles; he’s lost a number of close family members, and old friends have gone their separate ways. His marriage is history, and his sense of purpose is floundering.

John decides to return to the ashram in India, where he has found inspiration in the past with his guru. This is where his sister lives with about 300 other devotees, mainly from Canada.

John’s story takes us into the wild and wacky world of India and the inspiring but cultish world of the Mandi ashram in the Himalayas.

John introduces us to an assortment of zany characters. Meanwhile, he is still trying to make sense of his life. He soon becomes uncertain about what’s going on in the ashram and the actions of his guru. Something is wrong, but what?

John eventually finds that the love and light that characterized the ashram are not quite what they formerly seemed to be.  Events take place before his very eyes, which unveil a long-hidden story.

John narrowly escapes from the ashram, unaware that further adventures await him.
